You know she’s the quiet nurse who made a strong debut on The Bachelor Season 16 — then basically disappeared for the last four episodes. Here are a few more details about 25-year-old Jamie Otis.

1. She’s good with kids
Jamie was an instant favorite after she shared her tough but inspirational backstory on the premiere. She grew up without a dad and her mom had dependency issues which left her unable to care for her children. So Jamie has been raising her siblings herself. The family lived in a two-bedroom trailer-type shack and didn't have the nicest things. "I'm no hero,” Jamie said on the premiere, “I just love my siblings and want the best for them." She works in a maternity ward at Corland Regional Medical Center in Cortland, N.Y. and wants to have babies of her own.

2. She was almost Miss New York
Erika Uhlig was Miss Chicago and Samantha Levey was Miss Pacific Palisades but it’s kind of surprising to learn that quiet Jamie was also recently a pageant participant. Jamie competed in the Miss New York USA 2012 pageant on Jan. 15 in Purchase, N.Y. According to HollywoodLife, Jamie initially represented Central New York, but made it to the top 20 semi-finalists of Miss New York USA. Jamie was also third runner-up in the 2011 New York Perfect Miss pageant and was named 6th Avenue's Perfect Miss.

3. She still hasn’t really had a serious boyfriend
Before the season started, Life & Style shared “secrets” of The Bachelor cast, including the rumor that Jamie was going on The Bachelor to have her first serious boyfriend ever. "She's always been single," a friend who's known Jamie for years told Life & Style. "No one understands why she doesn't have a boyfriend, and they all want to hook up with her." Maybe she hasn’t had time, between work and raising her siblings? But that could explain why she said her best date memory was “My first kiss. Tenth grade. Outside under the stars. I felt like I was kissing Brad Pitt.” And maybe that’s why she uses Ben Flajnik for (extremely awkward) kissing practice in Episode 6. Since they haven’t had a real date yet, we still can’t even consider this her first serious relationship. How would she describe her ideal guy? “Loyal, respectable, funny, approachable, charismatic, honest, hard-working, intelligent, kind, polite and has to have great ‘father’ qualities.” Keep trying, Jamie!
