Wetpaint Exclusive! Tenley Molzahn on Bachelor Fashion: Casual Is Sexy

Is jet-setting to Costa Rica what driving in an RV up the California coast is in Bachelor world these days?! Well, these girls are some seriously lucky ladies! I think it is really great that we saw the women in more casual outfits this week — their workout clothes, tanks, and leggings prove you can be comfy, casual, cute, and still sexy! I know for a fact that men love this natural look, because my sweet honey, Kiptyn, always tells me how beautiful I am when I’m all natural and wearing the simplest clothing, like a T-shirt and black leggings or workout clothes. In fact, Kiptyn told me that his favorite rapper, Drake, says it best: “Sweat pants, hair tied, chillin’ with no makeup on. That’s when you’re the prettiest…”

Chantal is winning in the sexy athletic look department. We don’t ever see her trying to push the trend envelope (she’s often wearing athletic pants and a tank top), but you notice how much of a natural beauty she is, because she isn’t trying too hard! Chantal is also continuing to capture Brad’s heart, and I think it’s safe to say (rumors aside) that she really could be “the one.” Brad has had the opportunity to see her in environments they would find themselves in outside of the reality TV world, which is going to help them form a deep bond more quickly. And again, speaking from experience, ziplining is a great way to take a “leap of faith” together in a relationship and further deepen that bond. Oh, and it never hurts when a woman wears her man’s white shirt — and only his white shirt — after being rained out on a date!

I just spent time on the phone with Possessionista talking about how we want to raid these ladies’ closets, but also how we’re loving that the girls are totally being real with Brad when it comes to getting ready for their dates! But don’t worry, my clothes-hungry friends: You can keep it casual, lure your man in, and be fashion happy! Do it like Emily: Wear a T-shirt, some comfy pants, and add a gorgeous scarf. Possessionista found out that Emily’s blue scarf is a Michael Stars Spicy and Sweet Scarf, and that it was one of the amazing items in the girls swag bags! Oh, how I love those swag bags!

There’s a cocktail party and rose ceremony at the end of each week, and we often see girls we love go home and girls we aren’t so crazy about stick around. Same goes for the dresses: Some shouldn’t be making appearances, and others make us want to crawl through the TV to grab them for ourselves! I think we all know what I’m talking about for who we wanted to see stay and who wanted to see go this week. But when it came to fashion, Chantal didn’t make the cut, and Emily hit a home run! I’m IN LOVE with Emily’s purple flower/paisley T-Bags maxi dress! It’s a must have, and I’m going to find a way to get it. It was the perfect choice of dress for a night in the rain forest after a casual week in leggings and sweatpants. And you can never go wrong with a sexy little black dress like Shawntel’s. She’s done this two weeks in a row now, but they’re super cute dresses — and a “LBD” is always right, no matter the occasion.

So, fashion friends, let’s get cozy and let our men fall for the “real” us! Let’s turn up Jessica Simpson’s “Nothing but a T-shirt on” real loud and dance around in our Lucy athletic pants, favorite American Apparel white T, and Michael Stars scarf, and let’s feel beautiful.
