If you watched any of Sean Lowe’s The Bachelor Season 17, you probably noticed that the mix of women was far more ethnically diverse than ever before. ABC had gotten flak in the past for featuring pretty much only white people — bachelors and bachelorettes — every season.
But this year, we were stoked to see that things were much more diverse than in years past. And it’s not really a surprise — seeing as Sean had previously dated girls from various backgrounds before being cast on The Bachelorette. It’s definitely a welcome change!
In fact, The Bachelor winner — and Sean's now-fiancée — Catherine Giudici, caught our eye early on with her exotic looks (and obviously caught Sean's eye, too). With gorgeous skin, dark hair, and brown eyes, we basically assumed she hails from The Land of the Gorgeous People. But, to be more specific, we did a little investigating and found out that the former Amazon pro has quite the complex mix of ethnicities.
Catherine's father, Carey, contacted OK Here is the Situation to clarify the origin of the family surname, saying "my ancestors are from Switzerland (hence the Italian name) and Scotland. According to his LinkedIn profile, her father — whom Catherine discussed with Sean at length during their alone time — is a social media coach. Her mother, Cynthia Mejia-Giudici has the other side of the gene pool covered, and is a trustee for the Filipino-American National Historical Society.
We can't wait to see what Sean and Catherine's gorgeous babies look like!
