Reigning TV Rosemaster Chris Harrison was asked “What makes a good Bachelor?” during a recent interview with The Insider, and he admitted the first criteria is purely shallow. Considering TV is a very visual medium and most of the viewers are women, Chris explained, "Our Bachelor must be hunkier, better looking than the dope sitting next to the woman watching.” Ha!
“It's escapism to a certain degree. So he needs to fill that role,” Chris added. “He doesn't have to be rich, but he does have to have charisma and that charm and... he has to be sincere.” (It helps if he has washboard abs, too. Just saying.)
Chris gave the same criteria to the producers now trying to cast the new Bachelor Canada. Hope it works for them!
