The Rosemaster does *deserve* a new gig, especially a positive one that doesn’t involve listening to Bachelor/ette/Pad people sob with self-pity every day. So kudos to Chris Harrison for landing hosting dutites for a new ABC show called You Deserve It — his second non-Bachelor score in one week! (He recently renewed his contract to host Miss America 2012, airing Jan. 14.)
According to Entertainment Weekly, “players will compete to win up to $500,000 for someone else — usually a family member — who is in need. No premiere date has been set yet for the quiz show, which will begin taping six episodes in October.”
The network home to the Bachelor franchise does have a hole to fill between the fall season of Dancing With the Stars, which starts Sept. 19, and the Ben Flajnik’s season of The Bachelor in January, so maybe that’s where You Deserve It will land. Let’s just hope it doesn’t suffer the same fate of the former inhabitant of that schedule slot: remember Skating With the Stars? Anyone?
