The time has come, the walrus said, to name Desiree Hartsock’s Season 9 Bachelorette winner. Reality TV spoiler guru, Reality Steve announced May 16 that in the finale in Antigua, Des picks (drumroll please) Brooks Forester.

Although we had an inkling (and a few more RS hints) that Brooks was the man with the plan to marry our girl Des, we weren’t sure yet if she got engaged. A show insider told Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively that Des “fell over-the-top in love. She thinks she’s met the one. Expect a big romance this season. Huge.” So, does that mean it all ends in an engagement?

According to Reality Steve, it does. Not only did Desiree pick Brooks as the winner over runner-up
Chris Siegfried at the Verandah Resort and Spa in Antigua on May 8, she also got a rock out of the deal! We don’t know yet what her engagement ring looks like, or whether it was prettier than the one Chris may have picked, but we’ll know in due time.

All along, we’ve heard that Des’s pick will “not surprise anyone,” and considering that she took Brooks on her very first 1-on-1 of the season, we’d say that fits the clue pretty well. And get this: on their first date, Des and Brooks dressed up as bride and groom, in tuxes and dresses galore. Oh, fun with foreshadowing...

What do you think: Are you surprised that Des picked Brooks, or did you know she and he were meant to be?
