UPDATE: Say it ain't so, Des! She sent our Latin lover (in our dreams, anyway) home in Barcelona at the end of Season 9 Episode 6. Was it the fact that you beat him at el futbol, Des? We'll never understand. Llámenos, Who-an Pablo!

There’s one thing you need to know about Juan Pablo Galavis: he’s gorgeous. Oh, and he also played soccer professionally. Sure, the 31-year-old officially retired in 2008, but never fearhe’s kept his body game-ready. El fútbol has long been a part of Juan Pablo’s life. One of his favorite childhood memories is winning a youth tournament, so we know he’s competitive. But does he have what it takes to score with Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock?

Being bilingual might help. Born in New York, Juan Pablo grew up in Venezuela, meaning he can seduce in two languages. He returned home to Rochester to study at Roberts Wesleyan College where he excelled both on and off the field. But the soccer stud also had his heart broken. His girlfriend of three years left him for one of his friends, ending his longest relationship to date.

But nothing can keep this Latin lover down for long; in 2006, Juan Pablo joined Miami FC as a midfielder and forward. Because of team outings and his own personal sense of adventure, Juan Pablo is one of the better traveled Bachelorette contestants (Spain, England, and the Dominican Republic are just a few of his recent stops). He likes to add a little adventure to his personal life too. Juan Pablo’s idea of a dream date? Lunch in Venezuela’s Canaima National Park followed by a breathtaking helicopter flight and a little light jungle exploration. So, basically your typical one-on-one date on The Bachelorette.

Despite his fast-paced lifestyle, Juan Pablo makes sure to spend time with his four-year-old daughter Camila. Bachelorette Des says she’s ready for a family but is she ready to have Camila’s sexy mama Carla Rodriguez in her life, too? Tell us what you think below.
