Editor’s Note: Dana Weiss is a fashion and entertainment blogger whose popular site Possessionista.com gives readers direct access to styles worn on television. She's also a hilarious sartorialist whose quippy observations on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette keep us (and Bachelor Nation) rolling off our computer chairs. Dana will be writing a semi-regular column for Wetpaint during Desiree's season of The Bachelorette, and to say we're "tickled" would be an understatement. Enjoy (you will):

As the Bachelorette, Emily Maynard was rumored to have a quarter million dollar wardrobe budget, with all the Herve Leger bandage dresses and Christian Louboutin stilettos that money can buy. But if there's one thing we've learned from
The Bachelorette, it's that money can't buy you love.

RIP Jemily.

New Bachelorette Des Hartsock seems to be taking an entirely different approach to her duds the clothes not the guys shunning high-end brands like former Bachelorettes for attainable pieces from mall faves Old Navy, Express, and Guess. She even swapped out the high end denim from her ABC promo shoot for a pair of her own Target jeans.

The California beauty makes no secret that she's never had access to luxury presumably there was no walk-in closet in the Hartsock family teepee. The bridal designer even created her own Rose Ceremony dress for a future episode. (How very Pretty in Pink of you, Des.)

Looks like Des Hartsock really is the girl next door. And, apparently, she lives next door to the mall.
