We knew that Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock had a gift for sartorial sophistication, and now we're getting more proof!
People has a preview of the dress Des will wear in next week's episode, airing June 10 — but the real treat is that she designed it herself! You can even see the sketch Desiree drew to start it all. (Check out both pics here!)
"I wanted to design a gown that was elegant and timeless while still having an edge, glamorous but not overdone," Des tells the magazine. "I love to design gowns that are unexpected with different design detail or an interesting back."
Check, check, and check — the final product meets all those criteria. The dress features a sleek, floor-length skirt; a strapless top; and a bejeweled yoke — all in a luscious shade of blue.
"As I was looking around the fabric store, I was enamored by a vibrant blue color and knew it was exactly what I wanted to use," the 26-year-old recounts, adding that the satiny gown was a "nice change" from the sequined numbers we've seen so far.
Though she says she's accustomed to sewing her creations herself, she gushed that it was a "dream come true" to have sewer Oneita Parker bring her design to fruition.
We'll all be able to see the finished frock on Sunday. Here's to Des's burgeoning career!
