We're still not over the jaw-dropping revelation that Brian Jarosinski had a girlfriend when he was cast on The Bachelorette. It's like, you think you know someone, and then three episodes later they're breaking Desiree Hartsock's heart-sock. What gives, ABC?

We were under the impression that The Bachelorette Powers That Be (aka Chris Harrison and his elves) closely vetted potential contestants before casting them — so, how did Brian's secret girlfriend, Playboy Playmate Stephanie Larimore, slip through the cracks?

"There are things you just aren't able to find," Chris explains to TV Guide. "We can vet the psychological profiles, do drug testing and test for STDs, but unless we have the time and the money to vet someone like a Chief Justice in the Supreme Court, you have to take their word as, 'I'm single and available.'"

Whatever, Christopher. If Soulja Boy had been in charge of this operation, Brian "Wrong Reasons" Jarosinski would never have been admitted to Desiree's Chamber of Secrets.

"The thing about our show is that sadly it's not predicated on the fact that everyone is honest and true," Chris continues. "We're hoping to find 25 great guys, but that's life and this is the bullsh–– people deal with trying to date."

Is that supposed to help us sleep at night, Chris? IS IT?

Anyway, are you as shocked as we are that Brian was cast on The Bachelorette even though he had a girlfriend? Sound off in the comments!
