Jillian Harris has had quite the whirlwind affair of late — with television! The Season 5 Bachelorette found fleeting love with winner Ed Swiderski, but when it faded, her interior design career really launched. Nowadays, she’s starring on Love It or List It: Vancouver, embroiled in a steamy romance with a professional snowboarder / entrepreneur, and just launched a brand new project with her cousin and pal focused on vintage wares (more on that last part soon).
And while she’s no longer the lady with the roses, her love of The Bachelorette and insights on the show will be brought into our world once more during Desiree Hartsock’s season. Yep, that’s right! Jilly is writing a blog for Parade, where she’ll share her thoughts on Des’ dates, joys, and mishaps on her journey to love.
In her first entry, pertaining to Season 9, Episode 4 — wherein Des took her 13 guys to Atlantic City — Jilly spills about her first perspective on the gentlemen callers vying for the girl next door’s next phase in life:
“Of course, there are a few meatheads, a few nerdy types, and maybe a few mama’s boys, but overall, I’d have to say I’m actually impressed with Desiree’s group. What made me realize this right away was the Mr. America date. Typically, this is the date where you find out who has the balls (so to speak) and who is going to whine and complain when things get a little difficult. Most of the guys were fun-loving and up for the challenge. I thought that was hot!”
