We couldn't believe our eyes when Bryden Vukasin interrupted Desiree Hartsock's date with Chris Siegfried on The Bachelorette Season 9 Episode 5 to announce that he was peacing out of Bachelor Land. Did you see that lurking gargoyle's faces when Bry spilled the beans? Its expression was stoney — in more ways than one.

So, why did Bryden feel the sudden urge to leave Desiree's love nest? Two words: friend zone. "Seeing all these other guys hang out with, basically, your girlfriend and uh it gets weird," he tells Hollywood Life. "So I think what happened was, I started trying to protect myself but at the same time what starts happening is that I start pushing her away and she became more of a friend than a girlfriend."

In fact, Bryden had more fun hanging out with his fellow sista-wives than he did with Des! "I started to hang out with the guys and have more fun with them than actually with her," he explains. (OUCH.) "So I realized that was what was happening and I also realized that she likes me a lot, and then after that point I can’t continue this, because I think I’m gonna leave anyway."

Sure, Bryden claims he left Munich because it "wasn’t fair" for him to stick around, but it looks like there's more to the story than meets the eye. According to spoiler source, Reality Steve, Bryden was in a relationship with a gorgeous lady named Becky Weidow at the time of filming. She even posted an Instagram photo of herself and Bry smooching just a few days before he left for The Bachelorette.

“[S]he acknowledges the fact that she knew he was leaving to go on The Bachelorette by saying ‘I’ll be missing you’ in this picture just days before he left…” the Spoiler King wrote at the time.

Oh, and even more suspicious? Becky Instagrammed a slew of pics of her with Bryden post-Germany, which means they may have hopped back in the sack upon his return! So many OMGs, so little time.

Bryden has yet to comment on claims that he was secretly dating Becky during The Bachelorette, but hopefully Chris Harrison will grill him during the “Men Tell All” special. He has some serious ‘splaining to do!
