We were shocked when Desiree Hartsock told Chris Harrison on the July 8 episode of The Bachelorette, that she is “in love with” Brooks Forester. And we weren’t the only ones. Frankly, there aren’t enough menswear pocket squares to mop up all of our tears after reading Ali Fedotowsky’s take on things in her E! Bachelorette blog

What does the Season 6 Bachelorette say, exactly? Oh, just that the fact that Des admitted she’s in love with Brooks means that HE DOESN’T WIN!!!

Breathe.

I can't believe she actually told [Chris H] she's in love with Brooks! I know this sounds SO weird, but that fact that the editors of this show left that in, makes me really think that Brooks is NOT the one. Why would the producers show us this with so many episodes left?!?!” she interrobanged about the shocking turn of events.

Um, so what exactly does that mean for Des and Brooks and the end of the show? Well, based on teasers for the remainder of the season, there are a lot of tears left to be shed (how?!) and likely several reasons for the waterworks that we won’t see coming.

The other possibility? Producers have left the real story in there: Des loves Brooks, Des tells Chris she loves Brooks, Brooks gets over their shared inability to determine a gerund from an adjective, and the two live happily ever after. How novel that would be.

But Ali’s not so sure. She entertains the idea that for once we are seeing love form: “Des picks Brooks and we are witnessing the real love story unfold, then I couldn't be happier; happy for them! Happy that the show is showing us the raw love story! And just happy in general! I'm not saying the show is fake. It's not. I'm just saying that the producers/editors try to keep us guessing until the very last episode. Why would they give away the winner so soon?”

Good question, Ali. What do y’all think? Weigh in below.
