She may be a former bridal stylist, but Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock wants to keep her big day sweet and simple. The 27-year-old recently chatted with InTouch Weekly about the wedding we — fingers crossed — can look forward to after the August 5 finale. Of course, Des stayed quiet about who the groom might be, but that won’t stop us from planning the wedding now!

“I care more about the marriage itself than an extravagant wedding,” Desiree told InTouch Weekly, “so I want it to be small and intimate.”

ABC doesn’t exactly do small and intimate, so does this mean Des would pass on a televised (and financial covered) ceremony to get the wedding of her dreams?

If so, an off-camera ceremony would be a change for the show, seeing as Bachelor Nation’s reigning couple, Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter, took the plunge on national television — and got the deal of the century in the process. Their December 6, 2003, nuptials cost $4 million with ABC paying the couple $1 million just for gettin’ hitched. Not a bad wedding gift.

For Des, though, it’s the journey, not the destination that matters. The best part of her wedding? “Being with that person for the rest of my life,” she gushed. “Knowing that they’re my best friend and we’re able to get through ups and downs and get through it together.” Honestly, real life should be a breeze after reality TV.
