Desiree Hartsock has had a special kind of connection with Chris Siegfried on The Bachelorette 2013. The Seattle-dwelling rhymer with the heart of gold has everything Des could want in a guy: He’s hot, he presumably has a sweet trouser pet, he writes Des poetry ad nauseum, and his dad will give her free chiropractic exams (whether she wants them or not). But in the Overnight Dates part of the Season 9 Finale, something is holding Chris back from being able to commit to a life with Des.

What’s going on that would make this Mr. Right take a left turn out of Antigua? Well, just that he doesn’t want to live with her — in Los Angeles, that is. According to the Overnight Dates official synopsis, “Chris has a major obstacle in his path that he feels he needs to bring up to Desiree before things go any further. His career path is not in Los Angeles, and he will need Desiree to relocate. Will this ultimatum not only put a halt to the evening but also their relationship?”

Well, honestly, it could be worse. We’re pretty sure thousands of people daily say they don’t want to move to LA, so what’s the harm in one more? In all seriousness, let’s examine the situation a little further.

Des has started her career as a bridal stylist in Hell-A, but people get married all over the place. A move to Seattle, and a change to a career as a bridal designer can’t be all that hard, right? Conversely, Chris is a mortgage broker at Seattle’s HomeStreet Bank, but couldn’t he broker people’s mortgages wherever there are houses to buy and sell? It’s not like either of their families lives where they do — Chris’s is in Oregon and Desiree’s is in Colorado.

What do you think: Is this ultimatum a deal-breaker?
