Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock took America on one helluva emotional rollercoaster during the past two weeks. First, Brooks Forester bowed out of the competition, playing the “I’m just not that into you card” and leaving Des seemingly shattered.

After shedding so many tears (just so many, you guys), Des picked herself up, donned a pink flesh-toned nightie beach dress, and headed out to find love again, which she did soon after (like maybe it took a week, tops). She and Chris Siegfried are now ringed up and reportedly ready for the alter according to their joint interview on Good Morning America.

Seem like a quick turnaround? Yeah, we think so too, but then again, we’ve never tried to find love on a reality TV show (which we imagine is like speed dating on steroids).

“It’s a different situation because the feelings are more accelerated, but at the same time I think that helped in me really getting past the hurt from Brooks leaving and being able to see all that was here in Chris,” she told GMA on August 6, the day after the finale and After the Final Rose special. “Sometimes I think you do have to go through the hard to get to the good.”

Mainstream daters call that a “rebound” but we don’t know Des’ life. Plus, girlfriend’s got a point with that whole “hard to good” line. Once the blazing hot sun of Brooks set in Antigua, perhaps it let an equally beautiful, much more constant star called Chris shine through... Oh gawd, sorry. We’ve clearly been hearing too much poetry.
