As Wetpaint Entertainment told you weeks ago, two Neil Lane engagement rings were chosen for Desiree Hartsock by two different suitors. Yet on last night’s Bachelorette finale, we only saw one – the ring Chris Siegfried presented her with during his ultra-romantic proposal in the final few minutes of the show.
So what happened to the other ring – the 4-carat, round-cut sparkler worth close to $65,000 – and why didn’t we see it? A show insider gives us the scoop.
“The second ring was chosen by Drew [Kenney],” the insider tells Wetpaint. “He picked it out for Des and was so excited to give it to her when he proposed.”
But as we all now know, Desiree sent Drew packing before the final rose ceremony. Her reason: her feelings for Drew didn’t match his and she didn’t see them having a future together. “Drew was devastated,” the insider explains. “To add salt to the wound, he had to return the ring before he left Antigua.”
The good news? Not only did Desiree realize she was in love with Chris, she accepted his marriage proposal and the 4.5-carat sparkler he offered her.
“Chris, will you accept my final rose,” she asked. “Will you grow old with me forever?” Of course, Chris said yes.
A great man and a great ring. We call that a happy ending, indeed!
