Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock is one step closer to dropping “bachelorette” for the foreseeable future. On August 5, she and fiancé Chris Siegfried went public with their engagement immediately after the season finale we’re still puzzling over.
In true Bachelor Nation style, Des and Chris (we’re taking nickname suggestions in the comments below) are being cagey about any wedding details. Their nuptials could potentially be next summer, though, if SeanCat shows anything, that date may get pushed back post-ABC media circuit.
What we’re really interested in is what Des and Chris will say to one another during the ceremony. If The Bachelorette is any indication, their relationship is founded on words, words, and more words. That or Chris was simultaneously auditioning to be the next Poet Laureate of the State of Washington. Des even got in on the action a few times, dropping mad rhymes Soulja Boy might enjoy. Maybe.
Fortunately — or unfortunately, depending on your literary taste level — Des and Chris have vowed to not vow in verse. Don’t believe these two can put down the pen? See this exchange in People Magazine for proof:
Chris: “And I think we’d write our own vows.”
Desiree: “But probably not in poetry!”
“That’s a shame,” no one claimed. You guys are hot; your rhymes are not.
