Desiree Hartsock has always made it clear that her heart belongs to California, so fans were shocked (SHOCKED, we tell you!) when she announced her plans to move to Seattle during The Bachelorette's After The Final Rose Special.

Sure, Desiree is happily in love with her fiance, Chris Siegfried (who lives in Seattle) and told him she’s move if he ended up being “the one”, but we still kind of assumed he'd pack up his swag and move to L.A. to be with her! What gives?

"I have always loved California and that's mainly because I haven't had any roots anywhere with my family," Des explained to media outlets. "I've always been away from them and I think that I've thought about living in other areas but I haven't met someone that I wanted to spend my life with."

Wow, Desiree must be head-over-heels for Chris if she's willing to take such a big step. "I think you compromise and you make it work," she continued. "So, I wanted to move to be with Chris. I was going to wait until the end of the year but after waiting for three months, we realized that we missed each other too much and we just need to start out life together as soon as possible."

Aww, these two! Let's not forget that Chris has a steady job in Seattle, while self-employed Des (who is working on her bridal line) can work anywhere in the country. It definitely makes sense for girlfriend to relocate, but tragically this means she probably won't nab a spot on ABC's upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars.

Way to ruin our reality TV dreams, Seattle.
