Bachelor Nation lost a beloved member of its family when 29-year-old Gia Allemand passed away from an apparent suicide on August 14, and fans and friends have rallied in her memory. Gia's funeral will take place this coming week in her native New York, however Gia's close friends took it upon themselves to host a memorial service in New Orleans, where she lived with her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson.

The emotional memorial was organized by Gia's coworkers at the Pure Barre gym — where Gia worked as a fitness instructor — and held along the banks of the Mississippi. Around 50 people gathered for prayers, wore white ribbons, and threw flowers into the river.

"Today, we wear this white ribbon in Gia's honor," the invitation for the service read. "Please join us in prayer as we toss white flowers into the river to symbolize that our love and memory of her will continue to flow in our hearts."

Gia's boyfriend found her unresponsive on August 12, and rushed her to University Hospital in New Orleans, where she was put on life support. She passed away while surrounded by her family and loved ones.

A viewing of Gia's body will take place this Wednesday, August 21, at Papavero Funeral Home in Maspeth, New York, and her funeral is scheduled for Thursday, August 22, at the Trinity Grace Church of Chelsea in NYC. Gia's friends from Bachelor Nation are expected to attend.
