Long before Chris Siegfried wowed Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock in his baseball uniform, Roberto “Hottie Dimples” Martinez made Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky swoon in his own stripes — and had us longing for a trip to (at least) first base!
Roberto, like Chris, was a pitcher in the minor leagues. Now the Season 6 winner works at Farmers Insurance in San Diego. Back in March 2012, he made us melt as a local coach leading kids in baseball exercises. But apparently it’s been a while since he hit the mound, seeing as he tweeted on September 24: "Just threw a baseball for the 1st time in a very long time. God that felt right. #ThrowingFuego."
Everything this man does is “Fuego”!
There was a time when we prayed for several months straight thought Roberto might be the first Latino Bachelor. Now we have to be content with stalking his Twitter account, sighing over his gorgeous sunset and hiking photos, and trying our darndest not to hate the gorgeous Sara Underwood a little for being his girlfriend. (No promises, Sara — we’re taking it one day at a time!)
This past spring, Sara moved to San Diego to be closer to Roberto, and they celebrated his 30th birthday together in August. Hottie Dimples seems very happy with Sara and we’re finally ready to accept that 1) He and Ali will not be getting back together and, 2) He probably isn’t waiting to marry us after all. … OK, maybe we’re not 100 percent sold on #2 yet.
