Bachelor Nation was in shock when Gia Allemand committed suicide in August 2013. Close friends, family, and fans wrote messages to Gia and her loved ones, and multiple memorial services were held in Gia’s New York hometown and in New Orleans, where she lived at the time of her passing.
On October 9, close friend Craig Robinson announced that her mother, Donna Micheletti, was putting together a celebration of life for her daughter. December 20 would have been Gia’s 30th birthday, and event details are now available.
Tickets are on sale now for Gia’s birthday party, with live DJ Vic Latino, cocktails, dinner, dancing, and dessert. Proceeds from the tax-deductible $110 ticket will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, in Gia’s honor.
While attendees have yet to be confirmed, it’s likely that several members of Gia’s Bachelor Nation family will be there. Jaclyn Swartz (Bachelor 16), Ashleigh Hunt (Bachelor 14),Graham Bunn (BP2), Ames Brown (BP2), Jackie Gordon (BP2), Craig Robinson (Bachelorette 6),Jenna Burke (Bachelor 16), Rachel Truehart (Bachelor 16), Tyler Vermette (Bachelorette 6), Krisily Kennedy (BP1), and Gwen Gioia (BP1) attended her memorial service, though we're not sure which ones (or others) will be heading out to Long Island for this event. Although her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, will not be in attendance, the invitation says that he’ll be giving a speech via Skype during the cocktail hour.
We highly recommend that, if you knew Gia or want to support the AFSP, you check out the event. Email GiasBirthdayCelebration@Gmail.com for more information, or to buy tickets. Will you be there?
