While we’re busy programming our DVR for Andi Dorfman’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette, we have to wonder about the Bachelor franchise’s unsung hero, Chris Harrison. After living through 27 seasons of drunk crying, make out seshes, and cat fights, the always level-headed relationship counselor seems forever unflappable. But does the drama of yet another day spent hosting ABC’s steamiest love cray fest ever make him just want to go home at night and pop a Xanax and curl into the fetal position mewling like a baby kitten? Apparently not, because the host with the most keeps coming back for more... and more... and more.

Well, the 42-year-old does have a pretty sweet gig. He has gotten to travel the world, officiate a million and one weddings, and rub elbows with some celebs. But what keeps his head in the dating game is… the people. Awww of course it is.

In an interview with Parade, ABC’s voice of reason admitted, “If you took the cameras away, if you took everything away, there are these really dear friends of mine...when we’re at weddings like Sean and Catherine’s and Molly and Jason are sitting around with Des and Chris and Trista and Ryan, we’re all hanging out, having a glass of wine, sharing stories, and there’s no cameras. Take everything away and it’s a beautiful thing and I love that about my job and my show.”

Can you imagine anything better than hanging out with Bachelor Nation’s cutest couples while celebrating the wedding of one of those couples and talking about other couples? We sure can’t. Except maybe being one of those couples. Sigh.

What else does Chris love about his beloved show? Our resident cupid goes on to say he really enjoys hearing the public’s opinion on the show’s wide array of personalities. No really, he says he likes reading all those tweets. “There were so many varying opinions and I love that about our show. I love that it forces debate and it forces you to think about all this stuff.”

We love that it makes us feel like scientists collecting evidence in the steamiest social experiment on the planet. And that contestants often take their shirts off. And that we can play all the ugly crying scenes back in slow mo. Thanks Chris for hanging in there all these years — the show really wouldn’t be the same without you. We can’t wait to go on another wild ride with you and see what drama cooks up with Andi’s guys.

What do you think, does Chris have the best job on the planet, or is all the drama not worth it?
