Just moments before the June 30 episode of The Bachelorette was set to air, Nick Viall posted on Twitter what appears to be a personal jab at three other contestants: Brian Osborne, Chris Soules, and Dylan Petitt. Is he picking a fight, playing around, or truly living up to his quickly evolving status as the villain of Andi Dorfman’s season?

“Let’s get ready to rumble! @Coach_Osborne @C_Soules @DylanPetitt,” tweeted McSalty Nick, a half hour before an episode we already knew was going to be volatile. How do we know? Because he basically tells every remaining guy who isn’t him to go home in this sneak peek at tonight’s episode. In the promo, Nick specifically calls out Coach Osborne, millionaire farmer Chris, and Dylan of the Hair as men who “don’t matter.”

So, he’s called them out in the promo and now he’s called them out via Twitter. Is McSalty getting saltier? Well, maybe not. Scroll down through his Twitter feed and you’ll find lots of shout outs to the very guys he name drops in the promo/tweet, and shout outs from them to him.

Earlier in the week Coach Brian posted a pic of Nick and himself together with the caption “#tbt goes out to my older and slightly wiser member of the #bandofbrothers @nick_viall28. We went through thick and thin and came out alive. Love you brother #bromance #besties.”

And just yesterday, Nick posted an Instagram shout out to Chris, Dylan, JJ O’Brien, and long gone contestant Nick Sutter, writing, “People who are genuine matter to me,” and tagging all those guys in it.

So what the heck, ABC, what’s up with the villain edit? It appears these guys are thick as thieves — at least in the Twittersphere, that is. Maybe Nick and the guys have just decided to embrace his villain status and help him be the best evil-doer he can be. We hope next time he tweets he’ll be in full-on cape and mustachio.

What do you think of Nick’s tweet? Innocent fun or taking a jab?
