Things sure didn’t go well for Nick Viall on last night’s season finale of The Bachelorette, and they went from bad to worse on the “After The Final Rose” special. In fact, if we were Nick, we might just call in sick for the rest of the year, find a nice, remote island to move to where we can sell hair wraps to tourists, and forget that thing called ABC ever existed. Pretty much, Nick got pummeled last night — first on national television, and then again on social media.

Many lambasted Nick for his handling of the dumping heard round the world by Andi Dorfman, calling him out for calling her out. So it’s a good thing he’s got friends in high places, aka JJ O’Brien, to come to his rescue. The pantsapreneur, who has also had a rough go of it in the spotlight, defended Nick on Twitter. “Hate on @viallnicholas28 all you want — that was raw, live human emotion you saw,” JJ tweeted. “He was saying what he was thinking in the moment.”

Truth, JJ, but as most adults know, self editing is a skill that can take you far in life — or at least help you avoid cringeworthy moments.

JJ didn’t stop there, going on to tweet, “when your entire relationship is on camera, don't expect people to all of a sudden act completely fake during tough moments during breakups.” JJ has been #TeamNick all season, so it comes as no surprise he’s still got McSalty’s back.

What do you think of JJ’s support of Nick on Twitter? Justified, or stay out of it?
