Despite the fact that Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray both hail from the Atlanta area, the newly-engaged Bachelorette couple says that they never knew each other before the show (though Josh claims he saw her from afar at a club once). But take into consideration that Andi did connect with one member of the Murray family prior to the show, their love seems even more fated — even if it wasn’t her now-fiancé!
In an interview with Atlanta’s JEZEBEL magazine this week, Andi was asked whether she and the former pro baseball player ever crossed paths in the A, and she remained insistent that it never happened.
“A lot of people have thought that maybe we knew each other, but I had never met him before,” the former gang prosecutor explained. BUT! Aaron Murray, Josh’s little brother (and new quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs) did have a brief social media interaction with the Dorf, prior to his brother going on The Bachelorette!
“Obviously my dad is a UGA fan and his brother played at [The University of] Georgia and I remember his brother tweeting something at me, and I made one comment being like, ‘Oh, my dad’s dream has come true, Georgia football!’” Andi detailed.
That being said, Aaron’s (and Josh, for that matter) alumni status at Georgia didn’t win the Murray family any points in Andi’s book. “I’m a [Louisiana State University] Tiger through and through, so, to me, a Georgia Bulldog is just a rival.” Oh boy, we feel an in-law sports rivalry a-brewin!
It’s all friendly competition, though, and it sounds like Andi is really excited about being part of a football family — even if that’s not what it looked like on the Hometown Dates episode.
“[On the show], it looked like I didn’t want to be in a football family, but I totally do,” the 27-year-old gushed. “I love football; I’m an SEC girl; I grew up with football every Saturday. I can’t wait to go to some [Kansas City] Chiefs games. I’ve never had a little brother or little sister, so now I get that, which is exciting for me.”
We can’t wait to see this super hot couple on the sidelines, either. Don’t you think they’d look great in matching red and white jerseys?
