Chris Harrison has said before that the “process” on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette is somewhat accelerated. Well, Season 10 Bachelorette runner-up Nick Viall is proving that’s definitely true. A little over a week after calling out Andi Dorfman on national television, he’s expressing the hope that he can one day be friends with the Bachelorette and fiancé Josh Murray.
At this point in the breakup timeline, most of us would still be in major sweatpants / ice cream / Bridget Jones’s Diary territory. Not Nick, though — he wants the world to know he really does wish only happiness for Andi and Josh. “I think the world of him, and I think the world of her, you know,” he tells BroadwayWorld.com.
We find that a little hard to reconcile with what we saw play out in the aftermath of Season 10, but it’s funny how emotions can color one’s remarks!
“It's a difficult situation for all of us, and I don't have any resentment or anger towards them,” Nick clarifies. “It still makes me sad, and I still hurt ... but, you know, that doesn't mean I don't wish them all the best.”
Though Nick’s clearly still working through his feelings, he hopes the three of them can one day be friends. “I do in a lot of ways miss that friendship I had with Josh, and I don't know if it will ever be the same, but it would be cool if we could all get to that point where it was possible.”
We’re not so sure the feeling’s mutual. Both Andi and Josh called Nick’s “why did you make love with me?” line of questioning “classless” and disrespectful,” with Josh even going so far as to say, “I really don’t care for Nick that much.”
Ouch. We’re not sure we see a wedding invitation in your future, Nick.
