Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez famously found love on The Bachelorette but fell out of love off-screen back in November 2011 when Ali called off their wedding plans. There were a number of reasons reported for the split: Roberto, an insurance salesman, wasn’t keen on Ali’s increasingly public life as a television personality, he was too much of an introvert, she was fame-hungry, etc.
At the time, Ali said, “I found real, true love, and I’m grateful that I had that experience. There’s no hate. I still love him, and I always will. But what matters is how we feel, and we both knew it wasn’t right.” Ali has since remained pretty mum about the breakup, but is now breaking her silence about why their relationship didn’t last.
“We were really trying to make it work, and realizing it wasn't getting better," Ali tells E!. “We were unhappy more than we were happy, and something needed to change...I didn't want to let people down. I felt anger from my followers, fans...The pressure was to make sure we did what would make both of us happy.”
