Late last December, Season 7 Bachelorette Ashley Hebert challenged her fiance, J.P. Rosenbaum, to the couple’s first-annual Scrabble competition. Then she proceeded to beat him. Like, by a lot.
This year, the couple is still basking in newlywed bliss... but that doesn’t mean they’ve lost their competitive spirit. It sounds like J.P. had been itching for a second chance at Scrabble glory, and Ashley was more than ready to defend her title as champion.
On December 31, the ever-lovely Mrs. Rosenbaum tweeted, “2nd Annual Scrabble Match with @JP_Rosenbaum begins! Who is on team Ashley?!? Woot woot!”
That evening, the competition was well underway, something J.P. managed to illustrate quite well when he — uh, JP? — tweeted a photo of his Scrabble tiles. “Someone plz tell me wtf am I supposed to do with this crap?!?! I'm in a lot of trouble” he wrote.
Ashley’s reply? “@JP_Rosenbaum I see ur letters!”
So which Rosenbaum ultimately emerged from the competition the winner? That would be Ashley. Later that night, JP tweeted, “Man enough to admit that the winner of this year's New Years Eve Scrabble Invitational is the one and only @ashhebert #kudos”
Congrats to Ashley! But that’s not to say J.P. got nothing from the competition, however. A fan tweeted, “@ashhebert @JP_Rosenbaum is it strip Scrabble? Cuz then I'm on Team Ashley. :p” J.P responded simply, “one more glass of wine and yes, it WILL be!”
Hmm, maybe Ashley wasn’t the only person who won the competition after all...
