It may have been the most civil “elimination” ever on The Bachelorette. Emily Maynard decided to send Tony Pieper home after she found him crying about being away from his son. This after Tony had already expressed his conflicting emotions regarding looking for love on the show — while being away from his five-year-old son.
Tony didn’t seem to fight Em’s decision too much, which makes us feel that this was probably the best decision for both parties – or was it? Did Tony give up too easily? Should Emily have let Tony come to that decision himself? Who’s to say that Tony wouldn’t have completely turned his ‘tude around after a few more days. Of course, most people are uncomfortable in this type of setting – but retreating back home/accepting Emily’s elimination may have done Tony (and his son) a bigger disservice than he knew.
