It seems like just yesterday that news started trickling in about Desiree Hartsock’s Season 9 Bachelorette contestants. And while we are so excited to be borderline stalking getting to know a whole new crop of guys, we feel a little nostalgic already that we’re already talking about the finale (especially considering the show doesn’t begin airing for another month). But barring our feelings (there are many), let’s get down to business and talk about where Des may or may not commit herself to the man of her dreams.

Original intel from Reality Steve claimed that Des was getting engaged in Paris. While we were delighted about the possibilities for romance in France (the Eiffel Tower! The Seine! The macarons from Laduree omg bring us some now), it didn’t make a ton of sense for two reasons. First, we had already heard that Des and her dudes were heading to Europe to stop by Germany, Spain, and Portugal. So, it wouldn't makes sense for them to travel back to the US for hometown dates and then back to Europe afterward for the finale. At least, not unless a producer wanted to save up airline miles for something.

The second reason it seemed silly was that Desiree is hot and so are her final four dudes — together, there’s like a 47-pack of abs there (we tried to do math but got really distracted by muscles). So, why would they spend an entire season in Atlantic City, Munich in mid-Winter, etc. instead of heading toward warm weather? It doesn’t.

What does make sense is a Caribbean getaway. And according to RS’s latest post, that’s exactly where the finale will take place. Where in the islands will it be? We’re not sure yet. As fans of Season 8 will remember, Emily Maynard had one of the most beautiful engagements in the history of the show in Curaçao. But then again, so did Ali Fedotowsky. So, uh, just a suggestion — maybe pick somewhere new, just in case it’s a bad luck thing.
