It had been "several, several years" since Graham Bunn had brought a girl home to Raleigh, N.C. to meet his parents. But DeAnna Pappas "is an amazing girl," Graham said back in 2008 during his hometown date on The Bachelorette Season 4, "and if anyone's worthy of meeting my parents, she definitely fits the bill."
Graham and DeAnna had a difficult relationship throughout the season — she was drawn to him right away but he kept holding back — and it was nice to see them "click" on the hometown date. When DeAnna sat down with Graham's mom, mama said Graham "doesn't bring people in totally" and even though he has a lot of friends, he's more of a loner. DeAnna was afraid that she was falling for Graham more than he was falling for her and she didn't want to get hurt again, like she did during Brad Womack's first go-round on The Bachelor Season 11.
It didn't work with Graham. He got reserved again and pulled back, frustrating "firecracker" DeAnna. She sent him home in a tearful post-hometown farewell and he gave her a private goodbye letter. After the show aired, Graham said of DeAnna, "I don't think we would have made a great couple long term."
Things worked out well for both of them after The Bachelorette, though. DeAnna recently married Stephen Stagliano, twin brother of Graham Bunn's Bachelor Pad 2 BFF Michael Stagliano. And Graham is now very close with his BP2 partner Michelle Money, even though they live thousands of miles apart.
