You couldn’t really call Emily Maynard a victim of editing on The Bachelor Season 15, although she said no one has ever called her “boring” in real life and we’ll see more of her sassy side on The Bachelorette Season 8.

But she knows people — like her fellow Bachelor single mom Michelle Money, for example — who appeared one way on TV (crazy villain) and a completely different way in real life (awesome, sweet, and funny).

So even if Bentley Williams — the “villain” of Ashley Hebert’s Bachelorette Season 7 — was to make an appearance on her season, she probably wouldn’t immediately tell him to “get the f--k out” (like she does to some other guy).

On a post-premiere conference call, Emily said she was convinced the helicopter carrying Kalon McMahon was actually going to produce either her ex-fiance Brad Womack or Bentley himself.

“I was stressing out a little bit to be honest waiting for whomever to get out of the helicopter,” Emily said. “But I don't know how I would have reacted, to be honest. I don't know. I tried to stay open to everything and I'm just really glad that everybody I met the first night was a fresh face and someone that I had never met before.”

Em was asked to expand on how she felt about Bentley, who earned his villain title by insulting Ashley behind her back while complimenting Emily and wishing she’d been The Bachelorette.

“I know Ashley and I absolutely adore her,” Emily said. “She is one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth girls I've ever met, and to see her go through that and — I mean every girl has experienced something like that. Not on that level, but every girl has gone through and dated a Bentley type and I think every girl's heart, you know, broke for her in that moment and mine certainly did. [...] I also know, just based on the people that I've met from the show that are completely different than the way they were whenever I watch it from home, that I want to give Bentley the benefit of the doubt and, you know, just hope that he was able to watch it and grow from it. Because I think everybody does watch themselves and kind of, you know, sees a side of them that they don't love and, hopefully, he was able to fix a couple of things.”

Emily admitted when she first saw Bentley’s photo in ABC’s bios for the Season 7 cast, he was her favorite. Then he opened his mouth. But maybe he would’ve been sweet to Emily and she would’ve loved him. We’ll never know (thankfully) ‘cause Bentley showed his true colors with Ashley and now he’s out there hiding from all things Bachelorette. Your loss, man!
