In The Bachelorette Season 8 finale, Emily Maynard makes a sudden decision, choosing Jef Holm over Arie Luyendyk, Jr. — opting out of their final date after spending a magical afternoon with Jef. During Jef and Emily’s epically romantic final date, Emily spontaneously decides to introduce him to Ricki. In stark contrast to her first meeting with Brad Womack, Em’s 7-year-old daughter immediately adores Jef, asking him to play with her in the pool and giggling endlessly.
Emily, realizing Jef is her Chosen One, summons Chris Harrison to tell him she’s made up her mind: her little family is complete. Chris tells Emily she has a heartbreaking conversation ahead of her: telling Arie that she’s picked Jef instead of him, and before they embark on their last day together. Arie doesn't take it all too well, of course, because he's genuinely heartbroken about Emily's decision.
Then, in the moment we've all been waiting for, Jef gets down on one knee and proposes with a $150,000 geometric-cut ring from Neil Lane. Emily gasps, "yes," and then little Ricki runs in to walk off into the sunset with her mom and Jef.
What do you think? Do you agree with Emily’s choice?
