Can you feel the Earth shaking?
We've been feeling like a change was in the air for The Bachelorette Season 8 finale and this new report only makes our spider-senses tingle even more.
Entertainment Weekly says The Bachelorette is going live for the first time in seven years with its “After the Final Rose” special. The finale itself will actually air Sunday, July 22 (not a Monday, so take note) from 8 to 10 p.m., with the live "After the Final Rose" special airing at 10 p.m.
So it's like a live Survivor finale and reunion special. EW speculates that doing the “After the Final Rose” show live will prevent spoilers leaking out about who Emily Maynard chooses. But that's only if she does the actual choosing on the live show. Usually the Bachelor/ette chooses someone in the pre-taped finale. Unless that's why we haven't heard definitive spoilers on what happens after the final three? Maybe Em leaves the show without making up her mind and decides live? Wouldn’t that be exciting? We've been wondering if they'd try something like that — again — after years of spoilers giving away the ending ahead of time. Or maybe we'll have a wedding on the live show? Too out there?
As ABC executive Robert Mills noted, Em will not have the first live ATFR special. “Charlie O'Connell and Jen Scheft were also live. This will be the best though.”
EW speculates that they moved to finale to Sunday to better promote the return of Bachelor Pad, which starts on Monday, July 23.
What do you think of all this? Don't forget to mark your calendars for July 22 and prepare for a Sunday surprise!
