Last we left off in Curacao, Emily Maynard let sweet Sean Lowe go, making Utah entrepreneur heartthrob Jef Holm and Arizona speed racer Arie Luyendyk, Jr. her final two. Thanks to previous Reality Steve spoilers, we know Em picks Jef this Sunday in the Season 8 finale. Complicating things, we recently learned of some major “lingering feelings” with the power to throw a live wrench in the happy ending to the Emily and Jef fairytale. Now, spoiler king Reality Steve puts our nightmares to rest in his latest column. Steve writes:

Emily and Jef left Curacao an engaged couple. This live finale is not going to be her making her decision between both guys, or, they leave us hanging in Curacao with Jef proposing and Emily saying she needs more time to think about it. Nothing like that. They got engaged in Curacao, and despite whatever garbage you read elsewhere, they are still engaged today.”

So, what about those lingering feelings? Steve reports the not-quite-over-it exes are indeed Emily and Arie, who did not propose in Curacao. Post-filming, Steve says Emily and Arie have been in contact, but not in any engagement-shattering kind of way. Steve explains, “for whatever reason, there’s some “lingering feelings/issues” with these two that will be addressed come the live finale. However, it does not affect what’s already taken place, and that’s Emily and Jef being engaged.”

Do you think Emily made the right choice?

Tune in tonight to ABC for the finale and live “After the Final Rose” special, airing at 8PM/7PM Central.
