Rosemaster Chris Harrison does give good tease. We should be more cynical by now, after years of Bachelor and Bachelorette previews, but when Chris talks up the show we start to think this may indeed be the most dramatic finale ever or the best season ever. Chris worked his magic last night on the red carpet at the ESPY Awards, telling Celebuzz all about The Bachelorette Season 8 finale on Sunday, July 22, followed by the premiere of Bachelor Pad Season 3 on Monday, July 23.

Here are highlights from his chat:

On the live Bachelorette finale: "I've been begging for 10 years to do it live. I come from live TV, I love live TV. [...] It's really just the producers letting go of the edit bay and allowing things to just kind of happen. It's scary for them. It's like little babies having their training wheels taken off, but I'm happy that it's finally going to take place. It's going to be this amazing three-hour live event. It's going to start obviously with the finale that we've already taped, but we're going to be kind of a part of it as a studio audience watching it with you live, so it's going to be one massive viewing party that leads into the After the Final Rose."

On Bachelor Pad 3: "It's so good — by far our best season. And I think the main thing that made it so good is A) people kind of know what's going on now 'cause it's three years into it, but they really didn't have the couples pre-set. [Last season] there was a lot of stories and couples already built-in, which was good, but having kind of nothing going in and not knowing what you're going to get made it really fun and it made for all these weird love triangles and octagons and — it's a little bizarre."

On TomKat’s split, which follows his own recent divorce: "I think I'm the last person who should comment on that, don't you think? I'm the pot calling the kettle black. You know what, I do in that I know their pain, I know that feeling of having it splashed in the tabloids and having to read things that are true, untrue, insanely made up, whatever. I feel for them that way."
