When Emily Maynard sent Sean Lowe home on her season of The Bachelorette, plenty of people just didn’t understand. Sure, we thought Jef Holm was adorable. And Arie Luyendyk, Jr. was about the most swoon worthy kisser ever. But still: Emily’s decision to let Sean go was a painful one to watch.

Now, it’s months later, and Sean is once again searching for true love — this time, as the Season 17 Bachelor. Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Emily at the Bachelor cocktail party on January 11 to get her thoughts on Sean’s season so far. Obviously, Sean seems like a great catch. Does Emily have any regrets about letting him go?

What do you think of Sean as The Bachelor?
I think Sean is the most perfect Bachelor. He is obviously such a babe, so hot, but he also has such a kind heart and great family, like, the best.

Did you give him any advice?
I think I’m the last person that should be giving Sean any advice, so no, I did not and I think that’s for the best. [laughs]

Do you feel regrets seeing him tonight, or not?
No, he seems really happy so no matter how I feel, he seems really happy, so I have no regrets.

Are you sorry you let Sean get away?
Honestly, I’ve gotten hate mail for sending Sean home. I think I should be getting thank you notes, because now, we get to see him without his shirt for a whole season! I should be getting flowers sent to my house, I think.
