But what about Ricki? It’s a question a lot of fans have been asking since Emily Maynard changed her mind and decided to become the Season 8 Bachelorette. As Em finishes taping her love story — and prepares for the Monday, May 14 premiere — she reports that her 6-year-old daughter is enjoying her own “journey” through “the process” of the show.
"She is loving it, just everything that's going on," Emily told Zap2it. "She doesn't really know about The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. I tell her, 'I'm going to work,' but she's getting a lot of attention. Everywhere we go, I've tried to bring her back something from the dates or whatever."
Emily was vocal about not wanting to be the Bachelorette after her breakup with Season 15 Bachelor Brad Womack. She’s already said she felt like a hypocrite for changing her mind. In making the decision to go ahead with the show, Em created "a list of pros and cons,” she said. “I also prayed about it, and every reason I didn't want to do it was from being afraid of what other people would say or think. I don't ever want to live like that. I don't want anybody to have to live their life like that ... missing out on great opportunities just because they're fearful of what might happen."
Good luck, Emily! Just don’t forget all the “pros” when the tabloid stuff starts coming out...
