Before making it to the big leagues as the Bachelorette, Emily Maynard worked at the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina — and it's all thanks to her would-be in-laws, Linda and Rick Hendrick, according to a new report from RadarOnline. This happy couple have had Emily's back ever since her fiance, Ricky Hendrick, died in a plane crash while Emily was pregnant with their daughter Ricki, and they were determined to get her a job.

"Mr. and Mrs. Hendrick both donated and raised a lot of money for the Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte so one day Rick went in and asked his close friend, who was one of the bosses, if they would give Emily a job," a source tells RadarOnline. "But Emily didn't have the proper advanced degrees on her resume and wasn't as accomplished as she needed to be to secure a position there, so, as a sweetener, Mr. Hendrick offered to secretly pay her salary on the behalf of the hospital."

Wow, best grandparents ever! Of course, Levine Children's Hospital tuned down Rick and Linda's offer, and agreed to hire Emily as an employee despite her lack of experience. She remained on staff until landing a gig on The Bachelor, but made sure to return to support the Hospital during her stint as the Bachelorette (remember that muppet show where Jef Holm proposed for the first time?).

Are you shocked that Little Ricki's grandparents would go to such extreme lengths to ensure that Emily was provided for? They sound like pretty awesome folks.
