It’s been nine months since Season 3 Bachelorette Jen Schefft gave birth to daughter Mae and she’s still not done losing the baby weight. Slacker, right? Ha. She’s already down 40 pounds and back to a size 4.
So the magic question: How did she do it? Jen, 35, told Us Weekly she got on a treadmill three months after Mae’s November b-day and it almost killed her. “I didn’t realize how out of shape I was.” While pregnant, Jen admits she didn’t follow a terribly healthy diet, enjoying Chipotle, pancakes, and cheeseburgers daily. (Hey, that’s one of the benefits, right?)
But, thanks to a suggestion from her husband Joe Waterman, she got into Bikram yoga and went with a diet of moderation rather than restriction. Thanks to the intense routine — which involves being in a room as hot as 105 degrees Fahrenheit for 90 minutes — "I dropped 25 pounds right away,” Jen said. “Those last 15 took a while. And I still have about 5 to go. I want my abs back!"
When Jen’s done, she and Melissa Rycroft should have a post-baby ab-off. But by that time, one of them will probably be pregnant again. That’s often how it works. Just ask Trista Sutter!
