Season 9 Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock is beautiful, funny, and sweet as calorie-free pie. But is she the right girl to be the designated love-finder this season? Let’s talk it out.

Des was a fan favorite on The Bachelor Season 17, and we all felt for her when Sean Lowe played a trick on her in their 1-on-1 date — setting her up to take the fall for a broken art piece at a gallery. And when she got him back by fooling him with a “surprise ex” who turned out to be an actor during her hometown, a nation cheered. You know, until her bro was a jerk to Sean and she got sent home.

We’re not sure if it was editing or all real, but her departure after she was eliminated before the final couple episodes in Thailand was among the most emotional of the season — if not the most. Watching her tell Sean that he “made a mistake,” and seeing him agree with her, was heart-wrenching. And, naturally, we wanted redemption and love for her.

But so far, interest in the next Bachelorette has been lackluster. Details on her guys and her season have not roped readers in the same way Emily Maynard’s Season 8 scoop did. True, Emily had a heartbreaking story of a fiance who died, and a daughter she struggled to raise in the wake of it, all of which made us want to hold her hand as she sought love. And her broken engagement to second-time Bachelor Brad Womack added to her intrigue. Emily’s season was one of the most emotional, fun, and (ultimately) disappointing seasons of the show in history.

Are you looking forward to seeing Desiree’s search for love, or do you wish someone else had been chosen? Perhaps AshLee Frazier or Lindsay Yenter, had they not found love off-camera? Share your thoughts below.
