According to RadarOnline, former Bachelorette contestant Julien Hug committed suicide. He had dinner with his parents Sunday evening in San Diego, and then he left for Palm Desert where he was managing his family's newest restaurant, Augusta Modern. When he failed to show up at work on Monday, his parents filed a missing person's report for their only son. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department and San Diego police located his body on Wednesday, November 3, in a remote, rugged area within the San Bernadino National Forest. He had abandoned his car on a Forest Service access road, walked into the desert, and turned a gun on himself.
Tom Ulrich, a close family friend, opened up to RadarOnline about his shock over Julien's death. "With all the wealth and privilege Julien had, I can't imagine why he would take his own life," he said. "I can't believe this has happened. Why oh why would such a beautiful man take his own life?"
"I heard the kid had some issues and was battling some personal demons," Ulrich continued. "Whatever the case may be, his life was precious. He could have gone to his parents or anyone in this tight-knit community and asked for help. Everyone would have bent over backwards to help that man. I'm just so saddened."
Mille Fleurs, Hug's parents' San Diego restaurant, is full of flowers in memorium for the late Hug. He was a much-loved member of the community.
