Roberto who? While we adore the idea of Roberto “Hottie Dimples” Martinez bringing some Latino flavor to The Bachelor Season 17, you can’t ignore the show’s usual pattern of picking a popular castoff from the most recent season of The Bachelorette. At this point, Sean Lowe is looking like a good candidate to fill that slot.

A source tells HollywoodLife that we could indeed see Emily Maynard’s resident genetic gift writing more love notes to children he’s never going to meet in January.

“Sean was approached by ABC to be the next Bachelor,” the source tells HL. “He’s interested, but not sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see him on the show next season though.”

Honestly, it wouldn’t be surprising at all, even though spoiler king Reality Steve said Roberto was a definite for the job. Nothing is ever over 'til it’s over and Bert’s recent tweets suggest he’s not really sure about the Bachelor gig. (Does he want more money or is his price tweet about how they could never pay him enough to do it?)

Sean is not only one of Em’s final bachelors — and someone who stayed out of the tabloids and has no (obvious) stain on his character — he looks *exactly* like the kind of guy they usually cast. Aaron Buerge, Jesse Palmer, Travis Stork, Andy Baldwin, Brad Womack, Jake Pavelka — they are all blond or sandy-haired Captain America types. The show loves that look. Yes, the show is also dealing with a revived examination of its lack of love for contestants any other color than white, but history shows that guys who look and act like Sean tend to get the gig.

What do you think? Sean for The Bachelor? Yes? No? Want to wait and see? There’s almost a knee-jerk reaction to each new guy that gets dumped as a good Bachelor option — and we have a whole summer of Bachelor Pad 3 ahead of us, potentially giving even better options. Wait and see or nail it down now, so whoever signs up for The Bachelor will know what guy they are dating?
