The Bachelorette’s Sean Lowe’s not only got rock-hard abs, but, according to his sister, Shay, he’s also got a heart of solid gold. Speaking exclusively to Wetpaint Entertainment, Shay talks about why she submitted her brother’s application, why she thinks he and Emily Maynard make a perfect all-American match, and what he’s doing now!

What are you most excited about in tonight’s episode?
I’m very excited about Sean’s one-on-one with Emily. He’s been in the background so far this season, so I can’t wait for viewers to get to know him better.

When and how did you submit Sean for The Bachelorette Season 8?
I’ve seen every season. Back in September, I was watching with Andrew, and we saw a commercial, one of those “Do you know someone who should be on The Bachelorette?” So we got the iPad out, and one month later, Sean got the call.

Did you know Emily Maynard was the Bachelorette when you submitted Sean’s application?
No.

What about Sean made you think he’d be a good Bachelorette contestant?
He’s the right age – they usually look for ‘em in their late 20s, early 30s. Plus, he wasn’t seeing anybody, and it had been awhile since he had. He’s really likable, men, women, everyone loves him.

What about Emily makes you think they’d be a good match?
I watched her on Brad’s season, and I just thought she was the most likable girl in the house. She seemed very genuine and sweet, very all-American, and I think Sean is, too.

Do you think Sean would ever be the Bachelor?
Probably. I think, if they were offered, and he was available and not in a relationship, yes, he’d love to be the Bachelor.

Now that filming has wrapped, is Sean back at work?
Yes, he’s working. His opportunities have gotten a little bigger. I’m excited to see what he does next.

Does Sean spend a lot of time with his niece and nephew?
He is great with my kids and sees them all the time — he even takes my daughter to gymnastics sometimes! He’s just all about the kids. They call him Uncle Seanie.
