Bentley is a poopyhead. Can we say that? Too late; we've said it.

ABC just shared a clip from The Bachelorette Season 7 premiere, in which we meet what could very well be the biggest “villain” in the franchise history.

There’s kind of a spoiler before Bentley Williams even steps out of the limo, because when Ashley Hebert and Chris Harrison have their pre-meeting chat, Ashley divulges that a friend of Bentley’s ex-wife warned her that Bentley would be coming onto the show to promote his business. (Bentley's ex-wife has a blog called Life With Cozette, where you can see pics of Bentley holding his daughter, Cozette. Don’t let the photos fool you.)

When Ashley meets Bentley, she thinks he’s good-looking, and she wants to sit down and talk to him and give him a chance. But Bentley has a strategy. He wants to “win,” so he chats about his daughter and says all the right things to Ashley. This confuses the poor gal, because he seems so sincere; she wants to believe him.

But this is what Bentley is saying to the cameras:

• "The competition makes it exciting and competing for her and that's, I think, the extent of where I am in terms of my interest in her."

• “I can tell you right now it's not gonna work."

• “I, to be honest with you, could almost care less.”

• “Things could've turned out differently if the Bachelorette was Emily."

Yeah, maybe Emily Maynard would’ve seen right through you and kicked you to the curb immediately.

Usually we feel kinda sorry for people like Michelle Money and Wes Hayden who become hated by fans just for saying a few goofy things or maybe playing guitar too often, but it sounds like Bentley bragged about his plan even before he arrived, and he’s open about not liking Ashley on the show.

That’s just mean. And dumb, since most of the guys and gals that go on these shows have some kind of ulterior motive — fame, self-promotion, a chance to travel, a chance to hook up at future Bachelor reunions — and being so obvious about it only puts a target on your back. (Plus he’s not that good-looking.)

It’s also kinda mean of the producers to promote Bentley like this (show creator Mike Fleiss tweeted a link to the Bentley video on Facebook), knowing he’s just there to use the already insecure Ashley.

What a soap opera!

Reality Steve has spoilers on Bentley, if you want to know what happens to him. There’s no word on whether or not he’ll also be on Bachelor Pad 2, but you know the producers want him.
