We knew that mask would find a purpose someday — and not just to revive the organ music from The Phantom of the Opera. Jeff Medolla, a.k.a. "The Mask" on Ashley Hebert's The Bachelorette Season 7, made #43 on MTV's Top 50 TV Characters of 2011.

Here's the blurb they wrote about Jeff:

"Most contestants on The Bachelorette use cheap intimidation tactics and gimmicks to gain an edge on the competition. That's not what Jeff Medolla did; he wore a mask. Insisting that he would rely on his personality instead of good looks to win Ashley's heart, Medolla masqueraded through the first few rounds before the Bachelorette sent him packing. Unfortunately, the mask didn't stop him from talking mainly about his divorce."

Not only did Masked Jeff make the cut, he landed two spots ahead of NeNe Leakes, who dominated 2011 on Celebrity Apprentice and Real Housewives of Atlanta. Impressive stuff, man.

More Bachelor Nation folks could be in the top 40, since MTV only shared #s 50-41 on December 5, ending with dreamy Nathan Fillion's Richard Castle from Castle. We have to check back all week to see if, say, Bentley Williams makes an appearance.
