Emily Maynard’s Bachelorette guys are an eclectic — and attractive — bunch. From Dutch-born car racer Arie Luyendyk, Jr., to philanthropist Jef Holm, to lumber trader Tony Pieper, the Season 8 suitors are more than pretty faces (and rock-hard abs). And, while many of them double as fitness models in their down time (hey, why not?), there’s one contestant who spends his weekends volunteering at a children’s hospital.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Charlie Grogan, who can be seen in The Bachelorette premiere sharing a pretty heart-aching medical anecdote of his own: his face is half titanium! The Worcester, Massachusetts-based recruiter sustained “traumatic brain injuries” after falling from his friend’s (who just so happens to play baseball for the Atlanta Braves) deck back in October 2010, according to Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Charlie, who fell 15 feet and suffered serious spine and brain trauma, later sued for $5 million in damages.
Charlie has seemingly fully recovered from the accident, minus those lasting mechanical parts embedded in his body. He’s in such great physical shape, apparently, that he found it appropriate to give Emily Maynard a lap dance during a group date.
