Despite the Golden Globe Awards’ failure to recognize it as the Best TV Drama of 2011, last summer’s Bachelor Pad Season 2 was truly The Most Dramatic Show EVER. With a dream/nightmare cast built for drama, BP2 built upon the trainwreck foundation of Bachelor Pad Season 1, giving Bachelor Nation an even guiltier summer pleasure to devour.
So, obviously, there should be a Bachelor Pad Season 3. But will there be? No one has said there won’t be. It would be close to impossible to top the BP2 cast, but ratings seemed to be high enough to merit a third round of sobbing. Besides, what else is ABC going to show over the summer?
Cast members have already joked that Gia Allemand will be back for a hat trick, even though she has said she won’t return a third time. We’re all talking about it like it’s a reality, so let’s just plan on spending early August watching the premiere and enjoying the subsequent six weeks cleansing our eyeballs from the delightful spectacle.
Who will be cast? We can speculate on The Bachelor 16 ladies joining the cast — as Erica Rose noted, they all seem to be auditioning for BP3 anyway — but we won’t really know what’s up until we meet the men of The Bachelorette Season 8.
