The race for title of Bachelor 2015 is heating up: Chris Soules is the fan favorite from Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette currently being considered; Arie Luyendyk, Jr. is the kissing bandit hottie from Emily Maynard’s season who’s joined the race; and Marquel Martin is hanging in strong as the write-in Twitter vote. With so many great options, it’s hard to choose — but Andi and her Final Rose nabber, Josh Murray, seem to think there’s no contest.
In an interview with HuffPost Live, the Hotlantan says“If they pick someone from my season it’d probably be Chris. I think he is just a genuine guy and most of all he’s just respectful and a class act guy.” Josh nods his head like an enthusiastic puppy throughout Andi’s answer, so we assume he agrees.
Host Caitlyn Becker then specifically asks about Marquel, and whether it’s time to have some diversity in the lead role. Andi answers, “If they go that direction, Marquel obviously, I mean the guy has some swag and charisma,” but Josh chimes in with “Yeah, but I’d still definitely pick Chris over Marquel any day.” But why?
For a show that lives and breathes off its lead finding love, Andi thinks friend-zoned Marquel may not have what it takes to give audiences what they want. “We saw the romantic side of Chris, we didn’t see that romantic side of Marquel.” Girl has a point. While Marquel demonstrated a chokehold for Andi, Chris hired a plane to fly a loving message through the sky. One makes you swoon, the other makes you cry Uncle.
